Ï㽶ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø's Master of Education in Instructional Technology (MEDIT) program is a fully-online degree program that is designed for future professionals in the rapidly growing field of Instructional Technology.

MEDIT offers an exciting opportunity to build foundational knowledge and skills in instructional design and technology, alongside various online activities to develop expertise as Instructional Technology professionals. We have practical courses that focus on multimedia development, project management, and program evaluation, as well as trendy ones that focus on digital literacy, data literacy and visualization, learning analytics, digital citizenship, and micro-credentials. You can choose one of the three concentrations below to start your professional learning journey.

There are currently three concentrations in the Instructional Technology Program: Technology Applications (TA), School Library Media (SLM), and Instructional Technology and Training (ITT). Expand the concentrations below for more information. 

This concentration is intended for educators who are interested in ways to integrate technology in classroom practices and improve performance with technology in a school system.

Graduates of this concentration are IT leaders in classrooms and schools with professional knowledge and skills about instructional technology outlined by Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), as well as Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).

The 30 credit-hour program includes 5 required courses, including an internship course at the end, and 5 electives.

This concentration is intended for educators who are interested in becoming a school media specialist.

Graduates of this concentration are IT leaders in school libraries with professional knowledge and skills about instructional technology outlined by Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), American Library Association (ALA), American Association for School Libraries (AASL), as well as Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).

The 30 credit-hour program includes 10 required courses, including an internship course at the end.

The Instructional Technology and Training concentration of the M.Ed. in IT program is intended for innovative problem solvers who are interested in becoming an instructional designer, learning experience designer, training specialist, e-learning specialist, or learning consultant.

Graduates of this concentration are IT leaders in industry, higher education, government, or military with professional knowledge and skills about instructional technology outlined by Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).

The 30 credit-hour program includes 7 required courses and 3 electives.

How to Apply?

Application deadlines are April 15 for priority considerations for Fall cohorts and November 15 for Spring cohorts. (Apply for available semesters NOW!). In general, you need (a) Online Application and Fee, (b) Official Transcript(s), (c) Career Goal Statement, (d) Immunization Exemption Form for distance students.

Applicants seeking GaPSC certificate upgrade after completion of the degree program need to submit a valid level 4 GaPSC Certificate.
